Photoshop Basics – Training

Photoshop is one of the best products available for people who need to edit their photographs or manipulate images on their computer. Although it was developed originally for use by graphic designers and other professionals working with photographs on a daily basis, falling prices of the technology have made it more accessible for small businesses and individual users. The package offers many valuable functions, but learning to use them all can be quite a challenge. Training on using the software to its full capabilities is essential whether the user wishes to master it completely or just learn the Photoshop basics.

Online training

The best way to learn how to use the functions of the Photoshop suite of products is to follow an online tutorial. There are hundreds of these tutorials on the internet and they can be easily found on any search engine. If you are completely new to the concept of Photoshop and the way such programs work, there are tutorials available for beginners which will guide you step by step through the elements of the program which are most relevant for newbie’s and will go at a pace slow enough to allow you to follow what is going on. For people who have a basic grasp of photo editing software or who have used similar products before, there are more advanced tutorials which focus on some of the more difficult aspects of the software or which will show you some of the functions which make Photoshop such a special and well-known product. Most of the tutorials on the internet are free, or available at a minimum charge. They are suitable for both individuals trying to teach themselves to use the product and for companies looking for a cost effective way of training their staff to become more competent in using the software.

Adobe Certification

Adobe, the company who produce the Photoshop suite of products, offer the chance to become an accredited user of Photoshop by taking their certification exam. Although this exam is most often taken by graphic designers or other professionals working in the industry, it should also be considered by the enthusiastic amateur who is looking to break into work in the graphic design world or wishes to show potential clients that they are trained to a high level. The exam can either be studied for in a classroom environment or at home then once the exam has been passed, Adobe will issue a certificate showing that the candidate is an Adobe ACE. There is also a lesser qualification for people who have entry-level skills using the products, and this is often seen as a stepping stone to the higher level qualification.
